Livorno Shore Excursions

Livorno is the third largest port in Italy and the cruise gateway to Tuscany Region! Together with Venice and Civitavecchia ports, one of the most visited ports while cruising in Italy! Being mainly an industrial port, docks are spread out far from the port entrance and Livorno city centre, so the only ways to get out of it, are shuttle buses to the port entrance and then go on your own, or take one of our private tours, where we will welcome you right in front of the ship and you will be immediately in one of our comfortable brand new Mercedes vans, starting a 9 hrs guided tour, to the destinations you choose throughout Tuscany (Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Chianti wine area, Volterra, "The Mall" shopping outlet, ecc) .

Pisa and Florence Private Tour from Livorno Port:

Picking you up at 08.00 am., in front of the ship, will drive you to Pisa, 30 minutes far from Livorno Port, which was a Roman City and then in the

Medieval time, thanks to some important Pisan Families, became such a

beautiful town, another "jewel" of Tuscany: All the 3 most important things are in "The Miracles Field": The Baptistery, the Duomo and the "Leaning" Tower. Possibility to climb the Leaning Tower, prepurchasing the tkts, since 25 days in advance, on the "Opapisa" site, for a 09.15 or 09.30 a.m. climb!

Will drive then, within 1 hour to Florence.

One of the world's most important cultural and historical city is Florence:

Will start the Tour from Michelangelo Square where you have a breathtaking

view over the City of Florence. Will keep driving to Santa Croce Square, where many leather shops are and possibility to visit the Church (Euro 8 each), where all the most important italian artists are buried: (Michelangelo, Galilei, Ugo Foscolo, ecc). Will drive then, if you like, to the Academia Museum (closed on Monday) to see the David by Michelangelo (You should pre purchase the tkts on line to avoid the queue, for a noon entrance, on a site we will suggest you upon reservation). Driving then around the city will stop in the Duomo area to visit it, Giotto Bell Tower, the Signoria Square and Palace, The Old Bridge. You will have free time at disposal for shopping (good leather and gold) and lunch (not incld in the rate) (your Driver will suggest you nice places for a typical local lunch, not incld in the tour rate) or on your own.

Around 03.45 p.m. will drive you to taste the best "gelato" in town and then

will drive back to Livorno Port, in order to drop you off in front of the ship around 05.00 p.m.

Volterra and San Gimignano Private Tour from Livorno Port:

          Picking you up at 08.00 a.m. at Livorno Port, in front of the ship, by Mercedes or similar A/C Vehicle (for your party only) and English speaking driver, will drive you through Tuscan Countryside for 1 hr appx, before arriving to Volterra.

Will stop in the city centre and will walk to discover this charming Etruscan/Medieval town, known for the “Alabaster” Production (local stone): Will visit the old Duomo (the main Church), the “Priori” Palace (City Lords Palace) where many important families, in addition to the Medici, lived and ruled the city. Will also have free time, for shopping, pictures and a good “Cappuccino”!

Will keep driving then, for addtl 35 minutes, to San Gimignano, another “Jewel of Tuscany”, famous for its medieval towers. Will walk through the main pedestrian shopping street, full of shopping opportunities: “Vernaccia” (White wine) and “Chianti” wine, paintings, ceramics, local souvenir shops and will reach the main square, up on top of the hill, where apart from the City Lords Palace and interesting streets, will have the opportunity to taste, the best “Gelato in the world”!

Around 01.00 p.m., will drive you, (if you agree), to a local Farm House, located in San Gimignano surroundings, with a great view to the city, Tuscan Vinyards and Countryside, where you will have a good local produces “light lunch”, based on Salame, Ham, Bruschetta and fresh home made Pasta. During your lunch (lunch and wine tasting not included in the tour rate and cost Euro 55 each), you will also have a wine tasting, where you will try their best red and white wines produced in the winery (or lunch on your own in town).

Around 03.30 p.m., will start driving back towards Livorno Port, in order to get there by 05.00 p.m., dropping you off in front of the ship again.

Rome and the Vatican Private Tour from Civitavecchia Port

Suggested Tour:

Our Driver will pick you up at Civitavecchia Port at 08.00 a.m. waiting for you in front of the ship, by Mercedes or similar A/C Vehicle, to drive you to Rome (1.20 hrs).

Once in Rome the first stop will be the Colosseum, where you will have the possibility to visit it inside, prepurchasing the tickets with a specific entrance time between 09.50 and 10.30 am. through a site we will suggest you or just walk outside of it. From the Colosseum will keep driving to Aventine Hill where we will stop for a nice view to Palatine Hill with its Emperor Houses and the Circus Maximus down below. Will drive then to another of the 7 hills of Rome called Capitoline, where you have a breathtaking view on the Roman Forum, the old city center, then will drive to Venice Square passing by Victor Emanuel Monument, known as the "Wedding cake" for a picture stop and then will arrive at the Pantheon. Time to visit this amazing Ist C. B.C. Temple, now a Church, where Victor Emanuel II and Raphael paintor are buried (Euro 5 each) and then will drive to the most famous fountain of Rome, Trevi, in order to throw your coin inside. Spanish Steps passing by on the way towards the Vatican, where before visiting it, will stop for lunch (not incld) in a typical restaurant, suggested by your Driver or free time for lunch on your own. Orvieto & Civita di Bagnoregio Private Tour from Civitavecchia Port:

(The Dying City of Civita)

(Daily - 9 hours)

Picking you up at 08.00 a.m. at Civitavecchia Port, in front of the ship, will drive through a beautiful scenery of Lazio and Umbria Regions, with hills, roman acqueducts, medieval towns, will arrive at Orvieto, beautiful hilltown built on top of the old etruscan town. You will visit the amazing Gothic style Cathedral, which was built in the XIII C. by Pope Urban IV who commissioned the construction of the cathedral to provide a beautiful, holy place to host the "Sacred Corporal" of Bolsena. The "Sacred Corporal" of Bolsena was a miracle that happened in the close by town of Bolsena in 1263. The Corporal is the small cloth upon which the host and the chalice are placed during the Roman Catholic Eucharist. It was believed that during a catholic service some drops of blood fell on it, so the Church considered it a miracle.

After visiting the cathedral, you will walk in the narrow streets full of ceramic shops.

From Orvieto, we will drive you to Civita where we will stop for lunch (not incld) in a typical restaurant. After lunch, you will have free time to visit Civita di Bagnoregio, a small ancient village located on top of a sliding "Tufa" (Tuff) rock, coming from a vulcanic eruption of million years ago.

Civita is a traffic-free community, and can be reached only by a footbridge suspended in the air (Fee of Euro 5 each to walk thru the bridge and get to the city).

Its complete isolation from the real world, that only about 20 people live there all year round.

Originally, Civita was connected to the bigger town of Bagnoregio, but eventually, the saddle that connected the two towns eroded and now the footbridge connects Civita and Bagnoregio.

There are several delightful shops and some of the architecture spans several thousand years. The residence are devoted stewards of this village, meticulously caring for it and its appearance. Although it appears this town has miraculously survived the passage of time clinging to life with sheer determination, it’s actually a dying city, destined to one day perish. The town was placed on the World Monuments Fund's 2006 Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites, due to the threats it faces from erosion and unregulated tourism.

Please note that since Civita prohibits vehicles, visitors will have a 500 yard walk mostly uphill to get to the village. But the many tourists who visit Civita each year will say that the walk is well worth the experience

Around 03.30 p.m., we will drive you back to Civitavecchia Port, where we will drop you off in front of the ship at 05.00 p.m.

Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano Private Tour from Naples Port

Our driver will Pick you up at 08.00 a.m. at Naples Port, by Mercedes or similar A/C Vehicle, waiting for you in front of the Ship, to drive you to the Amalfi Coast (Positano), Sorrentinan Coast (Sorrento) and in addition to Pompeii, for a wonderful 9 hours Guided Tour and at the end will drop you off again in front of the Ship:

You will be driven to Positano, along the Sorrentinan and Amalfi Coast, with some stops on the way for amazing pictures, this very nice Village whose name came from "Poseidon" (The Greek God). You will have free time to walk through the narrow street full of local fashion shops and outdoor cafes. From Positano, will drive back towards Sorrento, where you will visit the medieval section of the city with lots of shopping opportunities: Cameos, inlaid wood works, leather accessories, ceramics and the "Limoncello" Liquor. Your driver will give you tips where to go for a fantastic typical lunch (not incld) and the best "Gelato" (ice cream) in town.

After lunch, shopping and visit, will keep driving back towards Pompeii where you will spend 2 hours visiting the best roman town left, guided (if you like) by a local licensed Guide for a private Tour (Optional at €150 up to 6 of you or €200 up to 8 of you), who can be booked in advance (Entrance ticket Euro 21 each adult not incld, to be prepurchased).

At the end of the tour, around 04.30 p.m. you will be driven back to the Port of Naples and will be dropped off in front of the ship by 05.00 p.m.

Our driver will pick you up at Naples Port at 08.00 a.m. waiting for you at the dock and will drive you, along the Sorrentinan Coast, with some stops on the way for pictures, to Sorrento driving you around the city and then you will have time at disposal for shopping (leather, ceramics, inlaid wood works, cameos and "Limoncello" Liquor).

From Sorrento will drive you to Positano, along the Amalfi Coast. We will drive you to the city centre and you will have a nice walk in the pedestrian area full of outdoor cafes and clothing shops opportunities.

Will drive you then up on the mountain in a nice local restaurant overlooking the city, for a fantastic lunch (not incld in the tour rate).

After lunch, will keep driving to Amalfi where you will have time to visit the old Duomo and for shopping.

Messina Shore Excursions

Mount Etna & Taormina Private Tour from Messina Port

 Our driver will pick you up at 08.00 a.m. at Messina Port to drive you to the highest and active volcano of Europe. We will drive up to 2.000 meters from where we will walk together to visit the "Silvestri" craters, the latest new lava flows and craters from 2001/2003. On the way, we will visit a local family farm where it is possible to taste local Etna wine, a selection of different types of honey (orange, lemon, eucalyptus, strawberry...), almond pastries, olives, extra virgin olive oil.

Driving down from the Volcano through a wonderful pine tree forest, we will arrive to Taormina. You Will visit the Greek Theatre, a stroll to the main street "Corso Umberto" with several art and designer shops, Baroque churches and beautiful historical Buildings. You can have an excellent lunch (not incld) at one of the local Sicilian best restaurants suggested by your driver.

The "Godfather" & Taormina Private Tour from Messina Port

 Leaving the Port of Messina at 08.00 am., we will reach the charming town of Savoca. Savoca is not a tourist town, it is a simple every day "local" town set on the hillside of the foothills of the Peloritani Mountains. This is where Al Pacino and Cast shot the "GodFather" Film. Following their footsteps and visiting the places that were so often shown throughout the movie will bring you back many memories. While in town "a must" is the stop for a Lemon Granita at the famous bar "VITELLI" , one of Coppola's favorite spots, showed many times throughout the film.

From Savoca we will drive to Forza d'Agrò which is without a doubt one of the best examples of a typical village of the Province of Messina which still preserves its medieval street layout and on every side of the town you have the most incredible views. In this town you will find local traditions, culture, history and art. 

We will drive you then to the historical centre of Taormina and under our tip, you will have your own free time to explore the village, stroll the main streets and narrow ways with picturesque corners and nice shops. We can suggest a good local place for lunch (not incld). You will have the time to visit the Greek Theatre and the most important highlights of Taormina. After lunch, will drive you back to the Port to drop you off in front of the ship again at 05.00 pm.
